A Case for Fewer, Better Skincare Products

I went so long feeling frustrated with my skin, unable to find products that helped clear my skin, and concerned with some of the toxic ingredients I was using consistently on my skin. I was doing an intense skincare routine day and night that a beauty guru told me would cure all my skin problems. Face wash, toner, face serums, moisturizer, eye serum, and so on. I wanted a simple routine using products that truly helped clean my skin, prevent skin aging, and fix acne scarring, made with good ingredients.
Stopping the excessive use of numerous different products and a harsh routine on my sensitive skin fixed so much of my issue. I attribute it also to the following products that help heal my skin. They are my top 6 products, all from brands that I love and recommend. So check out the other products from these brands that may be better for your skin type. I highly recommend finding a brand you trust whose formulas work for your skin type and then using that product consistently! Lastly, of course, everyone’s skin type is different, so be careful when trying new products.
I am not sponsored by any of these brands. And for context, I have extremely sensitive and acne-prone skin. My skin is neutral but occasionally leans slightly dry.

1. Caudalie VinoHydra Sorbet Cream Moisturizer
This moisturizer is light on my skin and doesn’t make me feel oily. It is the perfect moisturizer for girls with neutral to slightly dry skin, and a little bit goes a long way.
Caudalie offers a handful of moisturizers, so I recommend checking out their other lines as well to find the one that works best for your skin type!
2. Caudalie Vinoclean Gentle Foam Cleanser
My skin is so incredibly sensitive to face washes, but I have found this one to be gentle enough that my skin reacts well to it. I use this product to wash my face in the morning, as it is light and refreshing. I love that it is a foaming cleanser because I feel like my product lasts longer.
3. Badger Mineral Sunscreen
I switched to this sunscreen brand once I started hearing and reading more about all of the toxins in sunscreen and the potential negative side effects of typical aerosol sunscreens. I first tried the body lotion sunscreen and was blown away by how well it worked, so I had to buy the face version! Although this face sunscreen feels oily, it does not look very oily, which is a great bonus. It works so well; I highly recommend it.
4. Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum
Good Molecules is one of the most affordable non-toxic skincare lines that I have found that actually works! I highly recommend trying out any of their numerous products.
This product has truly helped heal my years of acne scarring. I saw results within the first few weeks!
5. Good Molecules Vitamin C Serum
This product has anti-aging effects, which is actually why I started using it. Research suggests you should start using Vitamin C serums (doesn’t have to be this brand, of course!) in your early to mid-20s to help prevent the effects of aging and dark spots.
I have loved this product and can already see it brightening and tightening my skin.
6. Osea Body Oil
This is an absolute staple in my routine for post-everything shower skin rejuvenation or when my skin feels like it needs a refresh! It moisturizes, tightens, and gives an elegant, glowing, brightening effect.
I truly hope this post helped you feel a little bit more prepared to dive into the world of non-toxic products. Although some of these products are a little pricier, I want to encourage you that investing in yourself is good in moderation! Spending money on products like these that keep your body healthy and boost your confidence is not a bad thing.
With Love,
Isabella XO
