Your morning routine is the first thing you do each and every single day of your life. Think about that, that has got to hold some power to it! So now think about how you spend it, are you rushing around, throwing things in your bag, grabbing your coffee, and running out the door? Starting your day with stress and overwhelm?
Trust me, I get it, I used to do that (and it still happens from time to time, of course...), but ultimately changing my mindset to treat my morning routine as sacred and to do everything with intention truly changed my life.
If any of this sounds familiar, keep reading to figure out exactly the steps I used to restructure my Proverbs 31 woman morning routine.
1. Make the time to have a morning routine
Carve out an extra 30 minutes (or however long you need!) of your sacred sleep time to spend in quiet time with the Lord studying His word.
This is first on the list because it is a hard spiritual discipline to sacrifice this sleep time, but it is the crucial first step! I realize it is hard, trust me, especially if you already get up early. But this is the vital first step: without making time for the Lord, you won't be able to foster that daily discipline of quiet time with Him.
2. Spend time with God
Make the first thing you do each day be about denying yourself (your desire to go back to bed or just skipping time with God entirely), and spending time with the Lord!
I truly believe the morning is the best time for your quiet time because it refocuses your mind on Him before you go into your day. But ultimately, just choose a time you can commit to daily and when you are most present.
Find a devotional, a bible study, a reading plan, or a book of the bible to dive into and commit to it. I have linked a few of my favorites below! The Bible App also offers so many great studies on books of the Bible or seasons of life, and they're free!
3. Take care of your mind and body
Wellness is important! Take care of your mind and body, do things that pamper your body or help you grow stronger.
Prioritize 7-8 hours of good quality sleep a night, move your body in some way, like a walk or going to the gym, have a daily skin care routine that you love, drink a full glass of water before coffee (still working on this one myself...), and so on!
4. Make your bed (& do a quick room tidy)
This will help prevent you from getting back in bed, and it always makes me feel like I am starting the day off on the right foot! I also think it is God-honoring to take care of the things and space He has given us, so I try my best to respect it and keep it clean.
5. Plan your day
This is something I like to do the night before, so when I wake up each morning, I am not stressed about figuring out what to do that day or about throwing together a last-minute timeline. This helps prevent me from starting my day with anxiety or stress because I know exactly what I need to get done that day.

6. Make your morning routine as easy on yourself as possible
Plan ahead to make your morning something you can do calmly, intentionally, and restfully.
For example, you can meal-prep, pack your bag, set up your quiet time spot, and lay out your clothes the night before.
I hope these quick and easy steps help you to build a Christian girl morning routine that honors God and fits your liking! Ultimately, doing all of your routine or mundane things with a heart posture of gratitude is one of the most important things. Other than that, tweak your routine to your liking and what helps you feel most connected to the Lord. I hope this was helpful 🙂
With Love,
Isabella XO
