Hey, y'all! My name is Isabella, and I’m a college student learning how to navigate adulthood right alongside you!! Today, I will help you conquer Black Friday and leave with the best deals and finds!
Are you overwhelmed with the thought of Black Friday shopping? I get it! Trying to figure out where to start and what to do can be overwhelming. I hope these tips help you navigate your favorite stores for the great deals!
Make a shopping list.
Know what you want to buy to avoid impulse purchases. Make a list of the items you want; be specific.
Go through your closet beforehand; consider doing a quick closet cleanout to accommodate incoming items. This will help you know precisely what new items you should look for.
This is especially important if you are looking for a very specific item from a certain brand. Do your research beforehand to find out which store will have the lowest price.
Plan a route
For example, if you have five stores, you will want to plan a route to make your trip the most efficient.
To do this, I plug all of my locations into the Maps app and move around the order of stores until I find the quickest route. I then research what time each store opens and plan accordingly.
Look up which one opens the earliest and go there first. Find out which ones will have the longest lines, and remember which stores are within walking distance versus driving distance.
Plan time to get places early.
Some stores will have long lines, so plan to go early to the places you want to visit most.
Set a budget
Good deals won’t be worth it if you can’t afford them! Set a limit on your spending.
This is why making a list of what you’re looking for will be helpful.
Sign up for notifications on deals.
Some stores will offer early Black Friday sales, so make sure you subscribe to the newsletters of your favorite stores to be the first to know about their sales.
Additionally, some stores provide exclusive discounts or special offers for their subscribers!
Compare prices
If you find specific items you want, compare prices with other platforms to ensure you are truly getting the best deals.
Use Google Image Search for a quick, easy, and all-around great way to find your item.
Consider online shopping
This has become so much easier and more efficient now! It will save you the time and trouble of having to wait in long lines.
As I mentioned above, be sure to compare prices to ensure you are truly getting the best deal. There are plug-ins to help you with this!
Be aware of your surroundings.
Black Friday can be so much fun, but just make sure you are aware of your surroundings and stay safe.
Be mindful of the people around you in stores; they can be very packed, and it would be easy for someone to pickpocket you.
Check return policies
Check their return policies if you are unsure about one or multiple items, especially if you plan on buying gifts for the holiday season.
This is a good idea to do ahead of time if you are looking for a specific item.
Dress for the weather.
For example, if it is cold outside, layer and wear warm clothes since you will likely be waiting in lines out the door.
Additionally, ensure you dress comfortably since you will likely be on your feet for a few hours.
I hope you feel prepared to tackle Black Friday now! Grab a good friend or family member to go with you and have fun!
With Love,
Isabella XO
